Faith quote graphic with stitched cross and heart - blog on chronic illness and Christian creativity.

A Mid-Summer Reflection from The Stitchful Studio

This past 4th of July, I got to slow down and soak in what truly matters — time with my family. We laughed, we grilled, we watched fireworks light up the sky. It was one of those rare moments where the weight of chronic illness felt just a little lighter. And I needed that.

Living with lupus and the constant unpredictability that comes with it isn’t easy. Some days my body feels like it’s fighting battles no one can see. But even on the hardest days, there’s something that always anchors me: my faith in Jesus.

That quiet strength — the kind only He can give — is what inspired my last three embroidered crewneck designs. They’re more than fabric and thread. They’re reminders.

🧵 “Still” — Quiet doesn't mean weak. Stillness is where I hear Him.

🧵 “Enough” — Not becasue of what I do, but because of who I belong to.

🧵 “God is Good / All the Time” — because no matter the struggle, that truth stays the same.

These designs came from moments when I felt weak, tired, and honestly worn out. But that’s where God shows up the loudest for me—in the quiet. In the stillness. In the moments I want to give up but don’t.

To anyone reading this who’s also living with a chronic illness, autoimmune condition, or just a season of hard:

You are not alone.

I see you. I feel what you’re walking through.

And I’m here to listen if you ever need someone to just “get it.”

If my story can give someone hope… if a crewneck can be a small source of comfort or connection… then every stitch is worth it.

Here’s to faith, family, and fighting through the hard — one day, one design at a time.

With love,

Irene 💜
