Life Lately at The Stitchful Studio – Summer, Family & A Whole Lot of Thread

Hi friends,

It’s been a busy (and beautiful) season over here, and I just wanted to take a moment to share a little behind-the-scenes of what’s been going on in life and at The Stitchful Studio.

First things first—my sweet grandson just turned one! 🥹 I’ve been soaking up all the moments I can with him lately: giggles, splashes in the pool, and even the occasional meltdown (because, let’s be real, toddler life is intense). Being able to spend time with him while also growing this business has been such a blessing.

I’ve also been hard at work stitching up new pieces for the shop! From puff-embroidered USA crewnecks to sassy trucker hats like “On my husband’s last nerve” and “Put it on my husband’s tab”, this new collection has been such a joy to create. And now with monogrammed totes joining the lineup, there’s truly something for everyone—just in time for summer adventures, the 4th of July, or thoughtful gifts that make people smile.

On a more personal note, I’ve recently returned to my low-dose chemo treatment for lupus. It’s been a long journey—especially after experiencing seizures and having to step away from the barbershop completely. As much as I loved that chapter of my life, I’m grateful to be doing this full-time now. The creative outlet and flexibility this business gives me—especially on the tough days—means more than I can explain.

Speaking of hard work, my husband has been incredible. Not only is he running @barcodebarbers (where a few of my hats are available in person, by the way!), he’s also launching his new dream: I Fly Cali Aviation School. Watching him build something from the ground up is inspiring, and I’m so proud of the work he’s putting in every single day.

We’re looking forward to having family in town for the 4th of July weekend—something about being surrounded by loved ones, fireworks, and a big plate of BBQ just brings the best kind of joy.

Thank you for continuing to support this journey, whether you’re shopping, sharing, or just cheering me on from afar. This small business has grown into something really special because of people like you—and I’m so grateful.

Sending love,

– Irene
